What never fails to amuse me is the hypocrisy in people. And those who pompously parade the fact with exaggerated imbecility. There is the neta, our black- money laced politicians who start at the name of corruption and glare at you as if you’ ve just suggested the asylum for them (though someone should seriously do that), but no where more is this hypocrisy evident than in the media, yes the torch bearers, the universal admonishers of corruption and its related evils. While earnestly arranging debates on the authenticity of politicians and their many oaths, they fail to mention their political alliances and loyalties. Many people equate politics to be a poorly executed play, with the present crop of netas to be the polished actors. What they fail to mention, is the acrobatics they perform in this circus. Infact, i would say that media is an even more dangerous instrument because of the control it exercises on the masses’ collective psyche. It has the stamp of validity, acknowledgment to back it up. While im not degrading the fourth pillar in entirity, i am hoping for a refurbishment on their part. They should analyze whether they aspire for truth, as a moral duty to the people or yearn for commercial success, with a foil, a fabricated truth for the masses to ingest. I am itching to comment thus: Lookout pollies, media just stole the show!( from under your modest chappals, no less!)
Yes, thay room in which they executed many erring patients…(no, actually its just a random room!)
At some point there was a conversation about colours, how everyone either called dibs on purple, red, blue and vibrant others. Most expected me to say black instantly, and they were partially correct in assuming so because i am a bit of a maniac where black is concerned. But i considered it and surprisingly i found my thoughts straying towards that distant cousin of black, grey. A shadowy, deceptive grey. Black is thought to be the colour that represents secrets, concealment and a certain uncertainty. Contrarywise, grey is more alluring a shade. For to describe it as a colour in itself would be to give it a firmness, to raise it from its dubitable, amorphous self which i think is a characteristic of this morbid colour. The first reaction was a comment on how melancholy my view on life is, which again rings a bell somewhere but to limit grey as well as me under that label speaks of a lack of profound gravity of thought. To truly unravel this eerily ambiguous hue, one needs to delve into that forbidden part of the brain which classifies wrong and right for you. Grey is that shadow which lurks behind every wrong and that lurks beneath every right. When things seem too complex to categorize into black or white, people turn to grey with desperation, anticipation but also a disparaging amount of suspicion, because above all, this is a shady colour, it tugs at their conscience and reminds them that there were doubts, that there was a question of poor judgment. These revelations are not taken kindly by us mortals who strive to be seen as moralistic and respectable people and this colour, is a hindrance. There is ofcourse, rain assiciated with this colour. Heavy clouds, grey overcast clouds that were fit to burst, purging of all sins!again a contradiction Why i admire this colour is because of the contradictions that plague it, how it merges the pure, untainted white and the dark, forbidding black. Beyond black, there is the inevitable end but that hope is grey. What appears right is white, but it seems composed of something less holy…its the hue that bespeaks a haunting, desirous allure
